[Lucy is pacing through the store, adjusting last minute vases of roses, straightening bottles of perfume, tubes of lotion and bubble bath as she goes. She's got a few candles lit and scattered around the store. There's a table with coffee, sweet tea and lemonade along with various pastries and cookies near the register. Everything is as ready for opening day as Lucy can possibly make it. She takes a deep breath, runs her hands down the skirt of her red dress and unlocks the front door.]

Welcome to Coming Up Roses. We've got all your sweet smelling needs. The first 100 customers get a free lotion.

[Jill walks in, of course. She wouldn't miss Lucy's big day. She's wearing a pair of red cotton shorts and a white tank with red kissy lips on the chest along with a pair of red heels. The moment she walks in she's bombarded by a plethora of scents.]

It does. [She smiles and looks around, loathe to touch much of anything for fear of messing it up.] We should celebrate soon by going to that guy who makes awesome clothes... I've only heard people talk about him.

A theme? Well, perhaps. But I'm interested in providing her with more of a variety of options. Yet... I'd still like everything to work well together... or at least not to be viewed as haphazard in my having chosen to include it.

[He gets a big smile mostly because he's kind of playing Lucy's game. The smile is also just because he's still trying. She presses her lips together hard for a moment, definitely making up her mind about something.]

[She pauses again, dipping her head enough to let her hair fall down to curtain her face before she takes a deep breath and tucks it back behind her ear.]

For real?! [Only, he doesn't give her time to answer. He's afraid she's going to change her mind. Instead he's grabbing for something off-screen.]

[Lucy spends the next several minutes straightening the store, glancing in mirrors and putting on lip gloss, then taking it off and putting more on. She sprays herself with at least three different perfumes, scrubbing her wrists with windex and paper towels in an attempt to get the previous scent off.

By the time Neil gets there, she'll probably smell more like Windex than perfume but she's finally reverted back to her usual Gardina scent. Her wrists and neck are scrubbed red and most of her lip gloss has been licked off.

She's a good deal more nervous than she'd like to admit about him coming to see the store. I mean really, Windex seemed like a good idea. That alone implies more nerves than are good for someone.]

[Neil steps into the store slowly and with some vigilance, like he isn't so sure what he's walking into. But if he notices anything off, he doesn't show it. The second he sets eyes on Lucy, he breaks into an all-out grin-- and then quickly suppresses it, because he's not so sure this is an all-out grinning occasion. He'll let her set the tone for what sort of occasion it is, so he waits for her to speak.]

MARION FAILS AT HIATUS but I waned to tag this...

[Stephen meanders in slightly awkwardly, his hands stuck in his back pockets. It smells over-whelmingly girly in here, but he's trying to be supportive friend.]
