[The device is sitting on the coffee table in Lucy's living room. She's got a buffet of 'tail gate' food laid out including hot wings, cheese fries, chips, salsa, chili cheese dogs and red velvet cupcakes. There's also a cooler full of beer and sodas sitting next to the coffee table. The TV is showing a football--It's a black market DVD of the 2011 University of Alabama Football Season. This is game one Bama vs Kent State.

Lucy is perched on the edge of the couch wearing a crimson tide football jersey, a pair of Tide sweats and a black and white houndstooth fedora. She's got a red A painted on her face.]

Oh come on! My mother holds more than that! You can't even call that holding!

[She glances at the device with a beaming smile.]

Tailgate party at my house to watch the Tide vs Kent State. We should slaughter the guys. It's like warm up. Anyway, everyone is invited. Come and enjoy food and beer and football. It's what Saturdays were made for.

Not exactly. I risked life and limb to brave the Underground's black market and picked this up. It's a DVD of the 2011-2012 season. We could watch all of the games at once but that's no fun.

They really have knowledge of things that haven't happened yet? [Jill finds this both awesome and terrifying. But she sits down on the ground, crossing her legs and watches the game.] Huh.

I think it's like the library. Somehow every dvd ever exists here.

[Jill tries to comprehend that. By that theory, she could get every musical that had yet to be made. And Jill did love musicals. She could be ahead of the curve on piano sonatas that had yet to be written. It seemed like too much, all the possibilities. And now she kind of wanted to watch all the football games in a marathon just because she could.]

This is kind of insane... but cool.

[She plucks a wing off the plate and starts nibbling on it.]

[Jill's brow furrows as she considers that. Is it really better? Sure, they get to scream Roll Tide, Roll and stuff, but if it came from the Underground like Lucy said... was it really all that awesome? There had to be a catch that came with it if it came from there, and Jill is just the skeptic to try to figure out what that catch is.]

Just go to the Black Market in the Underground. And pay a lot of money for it.

[The black market isn't easy to get to and isn't safe but they don't ask for your soul in exchange.]

You... actually went down there? By yourself? [Jill does not sound very sure about this. However, she is curious because she does and always has leaned toward the dark side of things in her head space.]

Not bad. During the day it's kind of like the seedier neighborhoods in Alabama. Night is when it's scary.

[Jill looks down to the ground, internally wincing at how easy it is for Lucy to say she's dead. She knows nothing can be done about it but she still hates that she wasn't here to stop it.]

It sounds like a real to life horror movie.

[It kind of helps Lucy deal with it better when she can say it matter of fact. And no, there was very little anyone could do.]

Yeah. It's not a good place to be at night especially. They say if you stay on the path, it's alright. There are wards to protect people. I don't know if I trust that though.

[Well if Lucy went down there then surely it was okay for Jill to go check it out sometime. It sounded like it would pretty much be the same as sneaking into a haunted house and the freakiest thing is your own imagination. Sometimes a little thrill like that was nice.]

Well I'll remember that. I can't believe we're playing this po-dunk team first. I mean I guess it ensures a win, but it's an easy win and I think we already know how it's gonna end.
