Character Survey



Body and Appearance

1. Describe the character's height and build.
Lucy is very petite at 5'1 around 100lbs. She has the measurements to go with her petite frame (no boobs, slender hips)

2. How old is she?

3. Describe her posture. Does she carry himself well or does she slouch?
She's got great posture. Her mom raised her with the whole walking with a book on her head thing.

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
She's in good health and decent shape. Although she's not likely to run any marathons soon.

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Fairly clumsy but very relaxed

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive himself in the mirror?
She's pretty but that is often overwhelmed with flat out adorable. When she looks in the mirror she sees a pretty girl. In fact a good deal of Lucy's self confidence and self esteem is based in the way she looks.

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Her complexion is clear, smooth and magnolia white. She does have various scars on her knees, arms etc from various scrapes and cuts.

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
Lucy's hair is naturally golden blonde. She wears it long (half way down her back) and wavy. It's fairly thick and soft

9. What color are her eyes?
Blue!

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Sort of dimples? No really she doesn't

11. What are her chief tension centers?
Her forehead (she wrinkles it when she's thinking) and her neck

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
Lucy wears lots of short dresses and skirts. Lots of high heels and she's very fashionable and trendy. Her clothes are generally high end designer as well as colorful. When she does wear jeans they're broken in, comfortable, skinny jeans with graphic tee shirts usually of pop culture nature or from University of Alabama.

13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?
Her clothes fit very well. Sometimes the jeans are a bit long but her dresses are all tailored so that the skirts hit where they should.

14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?
Pretty much. Although around the house she often wears an old football jersey or a man's button down shirt.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Thong or commando


Speech

1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Fairly midtone for a female

2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
She talks fast, a normal volume unless she's excited or angry then it's often loud. Her voice often does the lilty thing, lots of up and down in tone.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
heavy Southern accent and she often makes up words, speaks in rambles, uses lots of pop culture references and uses netspeak. Yes she will say the letters O M G. She often jumps back and forth between topics

4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
Just English and her English professor would debate her fluency with you. She was taking Spanish in college but not terribly successfully

5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
nope

6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
She's a good impromptu speaker in the sense that she can get up in front of people and talk forever. However, it's rarely planned, she doesn't follow notes well and she doesn't stay on topic.

7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
I wouldn't say eloquent but not inarticulate either. When she's very focused and she's really trying and thinking about her words she can be very fluid and focused in her thoughts


Mental and Emotional

1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?
Lucy is sort of averagely intelligent. She can be very naïve and oblivious but IQ wise, she's average. She makes an average student as well.

2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?
On her feet but it's not always the best judgment

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Idealistic and chaotic. Lucy thinks the way she talks, jumping from topic to topic, often arriving at a conclusion with no logical pattern of how she got there. It always makes sense to her but not so much to everyone

4. What kind of education has the character had?
She's a couple of semesters away from a bachelor's degree in philosophy

5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?
She's a fount of information regarding the college football team Alabama Crimson Tide. Outside of that she has no real expertise. She's curious about everything but her curiosity only lasts if the information she's absorbing is interesting. She gets bored easily and wants to jump to the exciting bits of things.

6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?

110% extrovert

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Lucy is very tolerant. She's chipper, happy, bouncy even. She's often hyper as well. She's not really given to any kind of emo or melancholy, going so far as to 'fake it 'til you make it' in regards to being happy.

8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
She loves new people and situations. She considers it all an adventure.

9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?
React

10. Which is her default: fight or flight?
This is a hard one. She puts up a good, smart ass front but in the end flight is her default. She knows she's not a fighter

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Lucy has a great sense of humor. It tends to be dirty and full of innuendos

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?
That is so debatable but no

13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
Catching her boyfriend with a friend, having an abortion—those are the big ones. Her mothers functioning alcoholism has defined her very much as well as her father's tendency to spoil the crap out of her

14. What does she fear?
Being abandoned, being raped now (thanks Rido) not being loved

15. What are her hopes or aspirations?
Lucy just wants to be happy. She lives very much in the now. She wants to be happy, loved and surrounded by the people she loves

16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
She's had an abortion


Relationships

1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.

She's got a great relationship with her parents. She's an only child and they both dote on her.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Nope

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
She doesn't have much extended family but there's an Aunt that drives her crazy and an Uncle she thinks is creepy.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
Her best friend Jill. She grew up with her and Jill was at her house so much she practically is family

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
In second grade. Jill was new to the school and Lucy befriended her. They've been nearly inseparable since.

6. Does she have othim close friends?

7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?

8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
To her her friends are her family so family over acquaintances maybe?

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
Single.

10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Hmmm well. Sort of? She is dating the Master [livejournal.com profile] neverendingbeat in [livejournal.com profile] polychromatic In fact she's practically living with him but she's desperately trying to deny to herself that she's not doing the committed relationship thing. She so is. Slowly.

11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
Rhett Butler but real person Jackson Thomas. He mowed their lawn when she was 12 and she spent hours watching him. As far as her latest, She's sort of got a boy harem in Poly but honestly the Master which is why she's doing the 'I am not committed' dance.

12. What does she look for in a romantic partner?
Someone fun, someone very tolerant. Someone who's willing to fight and make up. Charming, good looking, impulsive and silly doesn't hurt

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?
No and she hasn't really thought about children. They're one of those things she'll do later when she's older. Again, she's very much about living in the now

14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?
No. Really no.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?

16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
Lucy loves sex and it's fairly important to her

17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
She likes playfulness both in the bedroom and out. She likes spontaneity. There's a certain amount of sexiness in some possessiveness and she likes to be needed.


Beliefs

1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
Libra (October 7) and she fits it very well. Her Chinese sign is a snake and she doesn't fit it at all.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neithim? How important are these elements in her life?
Lucy believes in God, Heaven, Hell and the Devil. She was raised Southern Baptist and still considers herself that. She also happens to think she's going to Hell. Mostly because of the abortion she had when she was sixteen. Everything else is icing.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
She does. She's good hearted for the most part. She can also be very vengeful. You hurt her or someone she cares about and she will willingly see you hurt in return. She also sort of believes in the 'what goes around comes around' theory

4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
She's very tolerant and often curious. She doesn't think she's got any right to judge as long as those beliefs don't hurt the people she cares about

5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
Hrm overall, she really doesn't have any prejudices. She gives most everyone at least one chance.


Daily Life

1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
In her world, she's well off enough. Daddy is rich and she has his credit cards. In Poly she works as a barista at a coffee shop and spends most of her paycheck on shoes. I'd say as in debt as one can get without credit cards.

2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
She's always been fairly popular. That hasn't changed a lot.

3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
In her world she lived in the dorms with Jill as her room mate. In Poly she has her own apartment but she's currently staying with the Master. She has a black and white Newfoundland named Bryant that lives with her regardless of where she's staying.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
Shoes. She loves expensive shoes and would often rather buy a pair of those and eat ramen for a couple of weeks.

5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
She used to be a college student. Right now she's a barista in Poly and she's alright at it. She's fun and bubbly. She can be enough of a perfectionist to get it right. She compliments the customers but she does have tendency to tell the truth and be very blunt which customers don't always like

6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
Lucy loves Alabama football. She's a TV addict and watches ridiculous shows like ANTM, The OC, Project Runway etc and so on. She also cooks. Mostly Southern food and baking

7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Lucy drinks like a fish. She's been known to spend her afternoons with a buzz. Mint Juleps are the drink of the day every day. Her mother is a functioning alcoholic so Lucy doesn't see anything wrong with this lifestyle. She eats alright most of the time. Lots of salad interspersed with traditional, fried, Southern foods. Occasionally she does skip meals. Usually breakfast.
