★ 12 [Action || Accidental Video] Momma I'm coming home

The wind is lashing at the windows, rain pelting down and Bryant is slinking around the apartment whining. The video shows Lucy is sitting with her cheek against her window. She can't sleep depsite the fact that it's a bit after midnight.

She should have gone to Harry's before the rain got bad. At least she'd have company. She's almost asleep sitting up, her face smushed against the window when she hears it.

Lucy in the sky of diamonds, Sugar where are you?

"Momma?"

The voice with it's sugar southern lilt makes her sit straight up, all fatigue and boredom gone.

Lucy Baby Girl, I do believe I've gotten myself lost. The manner of places you manage to find yourself. Be a dear and come get me?

"Momma..." It's pouring outside but she can't leave her mother there. Not out in the rain. Out where it can be dangerous at night. "Alright. Stay put, Momma. I'll be there soon."

Maybe it's a gift from the city; a visit from her mother on Mother's Day. They've just gotten the timing off, the rain a bit wrong. It'll be alright once they're safe inside. Warm and dry.

She grabs a pair of worn jeans and pulls them on with the baggy concert tee shirt she wears to bed. She shoves her feet into canvas sneakers and heads out the door. Her device gets shoved in a pocket and the video blacks out.

The cold takes her by surprise. It was warm before this rain started. "Mom!" She yells into the wind.

Over here, Lucy

And she heads into the storm. She can't leave her mother out here.

[ooc:Going to send Lucy down into the Underground looking for her mother. Feel free to come upon her and even hurt her. Just no killing! rageiscute = my aim if you want to discuss hurting her. She is just human]

You should be careful.

I know. My Mom is here. I need to find her. She doesn't do very well without Daddy.

Will you be able to find her in this?

I don't know? I mean I have to. She's probably in a building nearby.

You should listen to your friend. Stay inside.

Who were you just talking to?

My Mom. She's here. She just got caught in the storm.

Re: [Voice]

[identity profile] neverendingbeat.livejournal.com 2010-05-09 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, right. Far be it for me of all people to do this to you, but I can't hear her. Could this not possibly be the curse of the day?

Re: [Voice]

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2010-05-09 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
No. It's got to be--remember when everyone had people here they knew? I didn't get to have anyone here. Maybe it's just that my Mom is early. She's punctual. Next to cleanliness and godliness and things like that.

[Obviously she's very doubtful but she misses her Mommy and she wants it very badly to be a gift and not a curse]

She talks softly. It's a whole Southern thing--that I did not inherit because I'm loud and probably have Yankee genes somewhere in me.

Right. Of course. That's all very logical. [He doesn't sound sarcastic about it, only contemplative.]

And where is your mum right now? Where are you right now?

[Sauntering through the darkened tunnels of the Underground, Rido Kuran turns his head in the direction of a presence off in the distance. From the sound of it, the thing was female, and in the dimness of the passage ahead of him he could make out the curves of her body even from so far away.

It made him hungry...

His mouth curved into a vicious smile, and he redirected his steps to intercept the poor unfortunate girl.

The night was improving already, and as he approached, his voice took on a velvety edge as his words echoed down the passage to meet her.]

Well, hello there~... Lost your way~?

Lucy pauses but she's consumed with trying to find her mother, convinced she's here. It's Mother's Day present from the City. She shakes her head. She doesn't really have the stranger danger instinct.

"No. I'm looking for someone. She's lost. I'm just--seeking."

[It never ceased to amaze him how easily some things came into his grasp as if they wished to die... and perhaps they did.

The vampire's steps were nonchalant, hardly feeling any sense of a challenge in the girl. She was distracted, not even noticing the danger that was so very close.]

Haven't you heard that it's not 'safe' to be wandering down in the Underground? A thing like you could get hurt... or eaten. But then, I suppose the same could be said for this friend of yours~.

Re: [Underground Action]

Safe, survival instinct, these are all things Lucy lacks on a normal basis. Also a can of mace. Which she just realizes she left in her rush to try and find her mother.

She pushes a tangle of wet hair out of her face, looking up at the man in front of her then takes a step back.

"It's my mother. I'm not going to leave her down here."

There's a determination to her voice as well as denial. If she doesn't admit that grandma is really the big bad wolf then maybe it'll just remain grandma. Or something like that.

[With her single step back, the vampire takes one forward. Killing was always something that resembled a dance. It was poetic in it's nature, holding a grace and intimacy not often witnessed by others. No, it was a select few that were given this distinct honor to be chosen for such a meaningful experience.]

... you're wet.

[He made no attempts to hide the gaze that centered on the soaking wet fabric that clung to her breasts.]

A thing like you... it's a pity. But don't worry. We can still have fun in a different way.

[identity profile] not-so-smooth.livejournal.com 2010-05-09 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
No, no, no, no. This is bad, Lucy, this is very bad.

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2010-05-09 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
My Mom is out here, Sam. I can't leave her.

[identity profile] not-so-smooth.livejournal.com 2010-05-09 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you sure it-

Look, let me come with you then.

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2010-05-09 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
No, Sam. You ought to stay inside where it's dry.

Besides I'm already down here.

[identity profile] not-so-smooth.livejournal.com 2010-05-09 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
You do realize I live in the Underground, right?

Where are you?

Action for great cuteness?

[identity profile] disregard-death.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[The weather in the city is annoying, it can be sunny for half a block and a tempest in the next]

"Oi! Lucy? Where'd ye get off to?"

[It wasn't that Keats liked wandering the street in the rain, but he also had a very difficult time not protecting people. He trudges the street after her.]

Re: Action sure as long as she ends up going Underground afterwards--can be before that

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Lucy walks among the buildings, arms wrapped around herself shivering as she walks. She should have gotten a jacket. She's listening hard for her mother's voice so it's not surprise she catches Keats'.

"Keats?" she yells back, hesitating between turning back to him and heading after her mother immediately. He could help her look.

Works for me!

[identity profile] disregard-death.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh god, she stopped. Keats picked up his pace and trotted back to where she was waiting. "It's pourn' down rain, Lucky. What are ye doin out here?"

Re: Works for me!

[identity profile] mghtbconcussed.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"I know," Lucy said, pushing a chunk of wet hair out of her face. "I'm looking for my Mom. I heard her earlier out here. Thought...it's mother's day. Maybe they're letting me see her."

Lucy was very, very homesick. This just fueled it. Or maybe the homesick fueled her belief her mother was here.

Keats pulled off his coat and handed it over, Lucy didn't seem to be warm. "Here, take this, lass." He frowned and looked around> "Why would your mum be out here? In the rain?"

It really was pouring down.
