Okay. Seriously? It was a bad idea when they made a movie. What makes you think it wouldn't be a bad idea in real life? Relatively there aren't that many things God decides need to be extinct. Dinosaurs were one of them. Maybe. Just maybe. Possibly we should oh...I don't know....

Harry, can we go see the T-Rex? [Because clearly if the dinosaurs are already alive she should go see them and Time Lord > T-Rex]

[The Master peers into the bedroom. He looks tired.]

I'm not sure about that. I've had a bad experience with a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

[He hesitates in the doorway and then goes over to sit beside her.]

Herbivores would be fine, wouldn't they?

Lucy straightens up when the Master sits down beside her and wraps her arms around his shoulders. She leans in and kisses his cheek then rests her chin on his shoulder.

"I like herbivores. Besides vegetarian is totally in right now." A pause because she's worried. "Tired?"

Harry thinks we should see the herbivores instead. T-Rex is just sort of the whole super bowl of the dinosaur age y'know?

He leans his head against hers, smiling slightly.

"How lucky for the dinosaurs." He pauses himself after she asks the question, swallowing and looking tense for a little bit before he nods slowly. "Yes. A bit."

Lucy scoots closer, unfolding her legs and wrapping them around his waist and hips so that he's sort of wrapped up in a Lucy blanket. "We could skip herbivores. I'll make blueberry pancakes and we can have pancakes in bed then take a nap."

See, so much concern that she's willing to skip the whole dinosaur thing entirely.

Thing...blocking his telepathy...thing... Really, if the bastard thing would just ask politely, he'd be willing to work out its spaceship issue--but he still wouldn't give it Lucy. That seems to be part of the issue. It's as concerned with complete control as he is. And it's not listening to him.

"That does sound lovely. But the dinosaurs are only here for one day." He pats her hands and then unwraps the Lucy blanket carefully. Warn her warn her--augh, he hates being helpless more than anything. But he has to infect her. He pushes Lucy gently back onto the bed and kisses her, resisting as long as he can but eventually digging into his pocket with one hand for his slug stock.

Lucy likes being kissed, especially so thoroughly so she's compliant, fingers tangling his hair and pulling him a bit closer. She nips at his bottom lip and hooks one leg around his, her foot sliding up his calf to rest behind his knee.

At least infecting is fun?

Oh, Lucy. Only just this bit is fun. This next bit isn't going to be.

Moving his hand carrying a slug up to Lucy's ear, the Master resists opening his fist for as long as he possibly can, his synapses practically sizzling with the effort and finally has to give in, managing a "I'm sorry," as he breaks off the kiss and opens his hand, the slug narrowing to push its way into Lucy's ear. He strokes at her hair in a mockery of affection.

For a moment she just looks at him confused, trying to figure out what he's sorry for and then the screaming starts. Her head feels like it's going to explode and Lucy isn't butch enough to try and be tough. She cries, fingers wrapping around the Master's wrist and squeezing tightly enough to bruise.

"Make it stop, Harry," she begs him between sobbing screams.

"Shhhh," says the Master, completely impassive in the face of ridiculously tight wrist-squeezing. "Just wait. It only hurts for a little while." Seriously, once he can get them out, they will have some fun with salt, promise. But the slug needs that wrist, okay? For digging and building machines to dig with and shooting people who try to escape. So it allows the Master to gather her upwards into his arms so she can at least maybe grab at less important things.

Smart slug because Lucy still hasn't figured out what's really happening so the gathering up seems like comforting. She buries her face against his shoulder, muffling her screams. She writhes against him, trying to deal with the feeling of her brain splitting open. She's so going to be pro salt when this is over.

And then it doesn't hurt anymore. She stops screaming, relaxes and looks up at the Master. There's some blinking involved and still a great deal of confusion.

"When do we start digging?"
